I read 1984 as a teenager and didn’t see what the big deal was at the time, and for many years after. It’s only been the last 10 years or so that 1984 has left it’s impact on me. There is much I have forgotten and should probably read it again. Strange, all these “controversial” books were read in 1951 when my family lived across from a library and now a lot of those writings are coming to past.
