I absolutely adore Halle Bailey! A beautiful Ariel! She really made this movie her own. Amazing voice. I love the new songs “For the first time” and “Wild Uncharted Waters”. Scuttlebutt I could have done without. I love the small changes they made, I really believe the live action gives the story so much more depth, I love that Eric actually has a story and we see more bonding time between him and Ariel. Halle and Jonah have SUCH amazing chemistry. *SPOILER* I didn’t like that they cut out Chef Louis and I also didn’t like that a lot of the humor from the animated film was not presented in the live action even though they also added some humor. I give 5 stars because the film was absolutely incredible despite the few small things I didn’t like, I don’t think the minor things I didn’t like are worth taking a star. My daughter (age 2) is absolutely in love with this movie, I have always loved the original it was my favorite film growing up and Ariel my favorite princess, props to Disney for this live action, insanely impressed. Melissa McCarthy kills it as Ursula, Jonah, a wonderful Eric. Loved Javier Bardem but watching the film you truly know who the star is (Halle) as her acting is phenomenal and the emotion she puts into her singing is amazing.
