John the Echidna

i find this show to be okay, as a Christian viewer, I always go into these kinds of shows knowing that it's made for a certain audience, and not to get mad. from a religious standpoint, I wouldn't approve because of the straight up demonic themes. but I've always reviews should not revolve around extreme bias, whether it's positive or negative. I'm astound how it comes from an independent creator, and the world building is extremely interesting. its characters are vibrant and enjoyable. Richard Horvitz of all people is in this and does a great job playing Moxxie. the story kept me interested, the animation is stellar, and it's all FREE? that is something i can get hooked on. as for my negatives, I feel some of the jokes don't land for me. some scenes were uncomfortable, especially episode 3. i understand the ending scene with stolas and blitz0 in episode 6, but i didn't see it as necessary. and just watching the show is stressful to me given the environment i have to watch it in at most times. and while i said i shouln't let bias get in a review, i will say my biggest complaint is episode 4 overall. anyone that has seen it knows what i mean. with that, my final verdict is that the show is fun to watch, but definitely not made for everyone.

this movie is fine. it's not the best movie so far, nor is it Pixar's worst. this movie is OKAY. i knew this movie would be different from their usual movies. but even as the target audience for Turning Red, the movie is a meh for me. instead of feeling relatable for teens, it felt like Domee Shi was making a self-insert movie about her slightly aggressive relationship with her mom that she held a grudge to all this time. and this movie was basically a big fat package in the mail that says, "look what I did mom!" it was pretty awkward to say the least. as always, the animation was great for the eyes. don't know what twitter is going off about. there was one other detail in the movie my parents pointed out. went completely over my head but looking back they might have been right. the whole thing with the ritual and chanting felt EXTREMLY demonic. caught my family off guard, even me. I'm not mad at Pixar for this, just confused? like what's the ACTUAL target audience, atheist 14yro girls on insta? but on a more serious note, the ritual even without implying demonic entities felt odd to me. if the red panda is supposed to be puberty and change, then the ritual to get rid of the panda is implying that change is a bad thing. the mom at the end chooses to let go of change and still stays with her old self. there isn't much growth with her other than being less strict with her daughter. kind of disappointed. Turning Red, like any modern Pixar movie, will definitely be a mixed bag. but again, this movie to me is FINE. it is an OKAY movie.

this game definetley falls under the category of what a lego game is. its quite easy to 100%, and i beat the main story mode in under a day. however, the more challenging parts is trying to unlock the characters and construction booklets, some of them needed to obtain the bricks. instead of buying them with studs, the game uses capsules, which is basically a mobile game lootbox. the character you get from the capsules is randomly generated, and you can get duplicates. this is a small issue, but my bigger issue comes from the fact that the final level doesn't have a boss fight nessecarily. you do some platforming to the top of the cake tower, and then a cutscene plays that explains the rest of the movie. its similar to the problem sonic forces had with all of its talking that they did. also the camera is a bit junky. overall, its a babies first lego game and putting those issue aside, its enjoyable.
