so um... do this appear? last time i tried to put my reveiw and it never appeared Also i read this book. to be honest the book can be illuminating to some aspects of living within muslim contries(is more the surface sexism and other mild religious stipidity). But overall, the vast majority of the book is not really interesting, most of the people that appear don't quite have more than 2 dimensions and the book often revolves around pretty normal, mundane, aspects of life. She doesn't really come off as a survivor of a war but more of a passerby, a really far away bystander. Honestly the author seemed to have lived an pretty good life, not great by any means but pretty good compared to the horror stories that come from muslim states. Which honestly defeat the point of a peice of entretainment. (to be honest, the author did this more from ego considering I defenetly didn't care for what happened next). Also she doesn't delve into her thoughts at the time, something I think would have added some flavour to the reading, would have been nice to read her think of the events in restrospective and compare what she, somewhat remembers of her thoughts of the various things that happened to her. Instead it is just a lot of memories, a never ending stream of narrative and I couldn't not get much of her personality other than she likes to write and that she doesn't like the sexism of imposed on her by her religious parents.
