I was very disappointed. This adaptation had lack of plot and character development, Poot line execution (sounded rushed by Sonya and as if she was reading from a book without sentiment). Fighting scenes that utilized the rhythmic beats and the music to make up for lack of skill as well as poor quality acting for some characters.Examples: Reptile’s anticlimactic end as well as short fighting sequence and Nitara with no fighting sequence. Those were two lost opportunities to captivate the audience. Shang T Sung there was barely even any combat. Odds and ends that were distasteful: Goro fighting in a barn. Goro is a prince and has won several consecutive tournaments in a row. He is very powerful, his demise could have been in a better environment and more of a climactic battle. CGI was not up to par on Goro with other CGI demonstrated in the film. Nitara special affects while flying,Kabal’s special affects lacking while first introduced in front of Shang T Sungs throne, the spear heating up to awaken scorpion and the teeth of Lui Kang’s fire dragon, I thought the actor for Jax was good but to be picky when he had his arms frozen off by subzero his facial expressions didn’t seem believable. I mesan I would be screaming lol he stares at them for a little bit and then; thats kind of delayed. Good special affects: Subzero’s ice was amazing as well as combat scenes with scorpion. That’s what I liked about the whole film. Throwing a whole load of characters and not expanding upon them adequately is what killed MK 2 Annihilation as well as this néw MK reboot.
