Major plot armor for main characters, the conversations felt disingenuous and no one seems to be surprised or traumatized when their friends die lol. The characters do the classic “let me walk into a dark, sketchy alley at night” behavior that horror movies are known for and just becomes frustrating at one point, but some how, the characters you KNOW will survive do because they’re better known actors. Points for creativity and cinematography, the “monsters” were interesting, really wished they had better writers.
The story had so much to give and could’ve been better executed. Not entirely sure if it was weak acting (not horrendous but not great) or if the fault lies on the script and dialogue. I sat through as the story seemed very interesting, similar to final destination, finished because I was already an hour in. It’s not horrible, but if you’re looking for the next conjuring, skip.
