Great flick, with exotic imports Hedy Lamarr and Charles Boyer at the peak of their youthful good looks. It's a curious romance. She's about to marry an older fat guy for his money and when they first meet he spends more time ogling the jewelry around her neck than her cleavage. The underrated character actor Joseph Calleia turns in a sly performance as the Inspector. Although it's never actually said this film is where the phrase "Come with me to the Cazbah", usually delivered in an exaggerated French accent, comes from. Good fun.
