Terrible movie, one of the worst I have ever sat through. But I can't stand Seth Rogan and his puerile humour at any price.

First Ken Loach film that has disappointed me. I really wanted to see the movie and went to some trouble to do so. I too was the only person in the theatre which says a lot about something but I'm not sure what. A very depressing movie, is the north-east really that grey and ugly .Except of course Durham Cathedral. Maybe it was worth it for those scenes. I really resent the use of animals and small children in films to manipulate audience emotion. The final scenes were ridiculous and false. How are tacky bunches of flowers and cheap soft toys supposed to ease peoples loss?

One of the finest movies I have seen. Thoughtful, emotional and intelligent. Four groups of people with very little in common other than their humanness we can all identify and sympathise with, all of whom I cared about. So too did the director and it shows.

If you have been less than sympathetic to the plight of refugees who end up in Australia I strongly recommend that you watch this excellent portrayal of the reality. I was moved to tears on several occasions by the story and the superb acting.I am still none the wiser as to how the global plight of persecuted and terrorised can best be handled. It is no one country's place to find solutions, I guess it is the human responsibility of all of us, in every part of the world, to be concerned, caring and humane in our response to the issue.
