I dont know what to think of this book, i feel like it had such potential to be a really good victorian supernatural story. It has a solid storyline, however i feel it wasn't explored enough. I would have liked more information on Piper as the main estate and more fleshing out of characters, history, the expectations of a 'lord' in the victorian times etc, i just felt almost rushed reading it. Esspecially when compared to say 'captive sets a very high standard for mm fantasy/erotica, which is constructed in a way that captivates you in both storytelling AND sexual tension but i felt the story a tad lacking.... but as i said, the base for such a cool storyline was there, it just needed more 'fleshing out' in my opinion.
Im onto the second book so hopefully it i proves a bit but i do know its a different storyline again so i feel almost robbed of the 'Piper' storyline after the first book....
