Watched for the queens and of course Rupaul. Throughout the show I’ve kept wondering the show would have been so much better with Iggy G (and the director’s) toning down the character by maybe 90%. The plot progression is predictable but really watching for the chance to watch the queens perform. Rupaul didn’t disappoint with her costumes, her lip syncs (gasp), and to some extent her acting. It felt that it’s a show for Rupaul Drag Race fans - Michelle Visage isn’t in the show, but boy did Mia’s character look like Michelle in this show! Fun, campy, light and nothing serious. As with Rupaul Drag Race, the show tries to shed light into social issues such as drug addictions, single parent family, gender conformity - don’t we already Rupaul Drag Race for those? Perhaps the producers could have just let the show be what it is without some of the heavy handed choices.
