Dark as its plot may be, Donnie Darko still manages to hold on to the hope of atonement. There is no other way a movie this deep, be presented simpler.

The dark tone of the movie is just right. It appeals through its disdain on human sins. Fincher puts forward a great statement through the movie. Nothing about this movie can be ignored.
