This is not Chuck Norris beating up a bunch of stuntmen.
This "Walker" has a ton of potential. Jared Padalecki's Cordell Walker is a new widower navigating single fatherhood. His kids are acting out. His hair-trigger temper gets him in trouble. His new boss is his former partner. His new partner is the first female Latinx officer, juggling problems of her own.
I've watched every episode now and I like it so far. They are starting to flesh out the supporting characters, they've dealt with some issues like immigration and law enforcement with nuance and subtlety. Hope they keep it up.
PS - to the show runners - let Padalecki do more action scenes. He's good for it.
