If there was ever a compelling example of how many of our homeless are existing...this is it. The mental illness, hallucinations...often compounded by addictions. Dr. Drew Pinsky makes the eloquent point that it is not compassionate to leave these individuals on the streets to self destruct. We need civil commitment once again so that homeless individuals can receive the care they truly need.
