I really wanted to love it. I am a huge fan of Westerns. I love historical films… but this is such a disjointed and depressing film. Good luck trying to follow the numerous tangled plot lines (without having a book to read prior to help keep track) and when you DO figure out what’s happening you wish you hadn’t. Kinda wish I was friends with Kevin Costner so I could have supplied some feedback. This could have been good, but you can’t have a movie about the dark side of history without showing SOME light. I felt filthy and depressed watching this. There is zero joy - fleeting bits of beautiful scenery are quickly forgotten in the carnage. Tragic that he gave up Yellowstone for this mess of a film.
