Overly ambitious. It's kind of like that Coen brothers' movie "Burn after Reading", except wasn't nearly as funny. There's also confusing horror elements that totally distract from what I'm pretty sure is supposed to be satire. But I couldn't be sure.

Gory, twisted, and brilliant, for the most part. Not your average horror sci fi. This one had me confused and conflicted about each character, especially the film's brutal yet maternal protagonist. Honestly didn't know how to feel about anyone till I watched it a second time. Plus next level gory!!!! You don't get originality in horror much these days. Watch this film. Twice.

This film, conveyed through brutal beautiful violence, is a perfectly told cautionary story of the very important choices one makes for one's family, with respect to one's own values. The level of push and pull between the protagonist and his wife, along with his primary concern for their child, chilled me to the bone. Beautiful, tragic film. Certainly not for the faint of heart though lol.
