I really liked the premise of the book. However, the characters were not well-developed; I didn’t particularly feel there was any real chemistry or tension between these characters for most of the book; and the love scenes were lackluster and not really descriptive enough. I was really disappointed as this was the first book I’ve read by this author. I flipped through the whole book in a few hours as it wasn’t very compelling. That said, I will give her higher-rated books a chance, as I am really hoping to find and support a talented author who includes people of color in romantic/erotic fiction.
