I like 75% of this book. The beginning is romantic and sweet, it's cool to see her past unveil as she reads the letters. I was a little confused when she started talking about Atlas like she was in love with him, while she was with Ryle? This then makes me think that Ryle had every reason to be mad at her. Nothing requires abuse but if I were him, I'd be the one asking for a divorce.
The tattoo? The magnet? The romantic gift giving? The secret letters to Ellen? The name of his restaurant? This is Ryle's WIFE we're talking about. Ryle was very open with his past, it was Lily's duty as a partner to be honest with her husband.
Finally, what the heck was up with the last quarter of the book? It felt different than the rest of the book, like it was a completely new story. She runs to the man her husband was worried about? She lives in the apartment HE BOUGHT and asks for a divorce during a monumental moment like, THE BIRTH OF THEIR DAUGHTER??? I did not like Lily in the end. Her decisions were selfish and confusing. At least in the epilogue we see that they share custody.
I love Colleen Hoover, I just didn't expect this type of story is all. The romance between Lily, and the other men feels real and is magical. I just didn't like the ending. Glad to hear there will be a sequal.
