This book is so pretentious in its mission to deliver the feminist instances - the message is so on the nose on literally every page, it's just eye-rolling. The main character doesn't speak like a person, but only through aphorisms that are so commonplace you just want to scream. All characters are complete caricatures, absolutely unrealistic and so stereotypical that they become unintentionally ridiculous.
There has also been clearly zero research done by the author on the scientific aspect, which is lazy to say the least for a book titled "Lessons in Chemistry".
The story is unnecessarily stretched in parts the reader won't care about, but rushed in parts where you need rich and detailed storytelling. The writing style, just like the characters and the story, is so simple that the reading experience becomes dull and uninteresting. This would probably be better off as a kids/teenagers book.
