I am so, so grateful that this show is being done, especially with Neil Gaiman himself steering it. Even if one hasn't read the source material, it isn't necessary: one can be completely unfamiliar with the Sandman or anything else in that world and yet the show makes it accessible to everyone. Though, to be honest, there are indeed small easter eggs and little nods for those of us who have read it, which delights me no end. It is a beautifully done presentation, in everything from set designs and practical effects to the casting and acting, to the way CGI is blended with reality. The acting (I cannot stress this enough) is amazing, and I fervently hope the show is renewed for a second season, as viewers have barely begun to scratch the surface of the Dreaming and meeting the Endless. Please go watch this show; I promise you will not regret it.
