This movie is very good. It is about love and forgiveness. The movie Hilda Crane was before it's time. Hilda tried sleeping around, and it seems that she discovers there's no happiness to it. She just wants to be a wife and a mother. She only wants one man. She wants a husband not just a boyfriend. The key to real happiness for her is offered to her with a proposal of marriage from a wonderful successful and man but a nagging future mother in law and an old boyfriend might ruin their change. Will this liberated woman have a chance. It's amazing this story was told in the 1950's. I agree with the theme of this movie sleeping around doesn't bring happiness. Having a husband and family can be a wonderful thing for a man or women. However the character Hilda Crane as made it very clear that it's her only way for happiness. This movie is a classic and I really enjoy watching it. Jean Simmons and Guy Madison really make a wonderful looking couple.
