What a strange and varied set of essays. Peter Counter is near my age, so I can relate to their positions, and remember every significant cultural moment they talk about. A truly masterful work of self-reflection and poignant criticism unlike anything I've read recently. I strongly recommend anyone born before 1990 read this book.
