Where do I even begin, let’s first start with the plot.
The plot is interesting and original unlike some OTHER movies (Shrek 3). It starts with Puss losing all of his 8 lives which is kinda predictable, but it’s good. The wishing Star map is a great plot device and how it interacts with the characters to change who they are. Like how goldylocks realizes that the bears are the greatest family she could’ve ever gotten, now that’s… MMMMMMMMM 👌. It also gives Puss a reason to enjoy his last life instead of running to other lives. Overall, great story and great lesson.
Next are the characters in it, I will start from the good to the villains.First we have the main trio, Kitty, Puss, and Perrito. Perrito is an absolute RIOT, he interacts with the characters well, and he can also be funny and serious at any time he wants. He is a sweet character who I absolutely adore. Kitty is also a great companion for Puss, she is a great character, but that’s all I gotta say about her. Next is Puss, when he realizes he has the retire, he seems like he doesn’t care at all. It’s just when DEATH comes and scares the life out of Puss. Next is death, death is a really good villain, not only is he threatening like the villains in shrek 2 and 4, he also gives Puss a lesson to value his life and the time he has. Then goldylocks and the 3 bears are a great emotional part. They add more charm to the movie than the original Puss in Boots. Then we got Jack Horner and… he’s amazing. He’s a funny villain and also what I adore in all villains. Is has no good side, I love villains who have no nice side to them and are just soulless people. Overall, great characters.
Next is the animation, it is absolutely beautiful, amazing, and stellar. It takes the old Puss in Boots, and adds spider verse kind animation to it. The visuals are great, that’s all I got to say, moving on.
Problems: n o t h i n g
All I hope for shrek 5 (if it will exist) is that it’s just as good as this work of art.
