I loved this show. You don't need to be keen on either rugby or poetry to recognise an engrosing story told this well. I was totally hooked from the beginning. Great writing, great acting, great production quality. And I really really loved the diversity of characters protrayed positively and with depth. Great stuff. So good to see the ABC producing high-quality home-grown talent.

It's a fun idea. It's a delicious opportunity for really lovely period detail in fabric, design, society, language, the raw edges of prejudice and rebellion, the fizz of change... and they almost... But, ah no ... writing, design, plot, acting, all missed the target. And I don't know, the anachronistic sound track might work for some but Awkward from start to ... well, I'm not sure I'll get to the finish...
