As a huge fan of the original film, I tried to manage expectations. I was pleasantly surprised that they connect the dots on just the right amount of things from the original movie. The only thing that seemed a bit forced was the use of a famous edited phrase from the original movie. Overall, I was very satisfied and will see it again.
