Thoroughly enjoyed wholeheartedly the film, and this might be unusual as I read the book, although can’t say I fully loved the book. It translated exceptionally well to film. And I’m so glad for how the film plays out. I can’t wait for the next one. Don’t read further if you don’t want spoilers One of the most fantastically well written parts of the film was how Lilly saw the abuse for what it really was in those flash backs near the end, when at first she was seeing them with rose tinted glasses. Whoever’s idea that was well done. Exception piece of the film absolutely pivotal to the story. As I read the book I have to nit pick as some specific bits that put me off a bit, it did bother me that they got Blake lively to be Lilly, I wouldn’t have picked her as she’s so much older, 15 whole years older than she is in the book, her laugh as many people have said is awful and it’s overused to cover her bad acting and the curly, frizzy messy horrible red hair didn’t suit her at all.wish they hadn’t used a big celeb for this role and spent more time getting the right fit to be Lilly with better acting and better chemistry. I also was so disappointed in Alyssa in the film, she’s supposed to be an unpaid volunteer at the shop to distract herself while she’s struggling with fertility issues and that’s how they become so close as she bends over backwards for Lilly and there were scenes missing that were needed to show just how close Alyssa and Lilly were, they were sisters not through blood. I didn’t like how they changed to lilly asking what happened to Emerson instead of Alyssa offering to tell her, it didn’t fit well. It didn’t make sense why she was asking in the film. And I really wanted to give Atlas a haircut all through the film. I cant believe after 8 years in the military he would look like he let his hair grow without a haircut for so long, it was unkept and unattractive. I found the rooftop scene between Lilly and Ryle at the beginning of the film had no chemistry at all, could tell they were actors and was difficult to watch but this improved after that scene and was fine the rest of the film. I wish they’d kept the film at an 18 and made the the sexy scenes like the book. Some pivotal bits were missing.

I had always wanted to watch this film as I was interested in knowing more about what happened, was expecting a “based on true story” type film. Well, if you’re like me expecting that do not watch this, it’s a psychological drama, except it’s not a particularly good one, I’ve seen some psychological dramas/thrillers like get out and saltburn, but this, this was honestly boring, unentertaining, hard to believe most of it was based on a true story, absolutely no events happen in the film, I was expecting to see some fall out from the affair, or the divorcee, or her death, anything to give this an actual story line, but it’s based over 3 days at Christmas, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day and just nothing at all happens. Nothing real. And honestly in the first 30 minutes of the film nothing happens except she gets lost and arrives late I mean good lord why did that need 30 minutes of screen time. I’m actually annoyed I wasted time watching it.

Funniest film I’ve seen in years! This film is going to be an absolute classic talked about for years and years to come, loved this film from the fantastic opening scene, this film is top notch, hilarious, cleverly written. I thoroughly enjoyed this comedy, it had me and my friends laughing and my boyfriend thought it was the best film he’s seen in years (which is saying a lot). Would recommend, not for those who don’t like slapstick or a bit of cringe as that’s where some of the laughs come from. Absolutely gorgeous cast in Glen and Sydney and gorgeous scenery, and some really beautifully romantic scenes too, something for everyone to love.

Put it this way- the fact Tessa is on the cover of the film is a lie. CONTAINS SPOILERS I have been a fan of the books and the films but havent read the last book so was excited to see this film. But this was utter disappointment and Im honestly so angry. This doesnt even feel like an after film. Tessa isnt even in it for 95% of the film, its not set with the friends and family of Tessa like the other films, it’s not even set in the same place! It’s set in Portugal where they bring in a new love interest!!! This film is a disgrace to its routes and it is a complete repeat of film 2 and 4! Film 4 Hardin joins AA and gets sober to be better for Tessa and then releases his book and they break up. So you wanna tell me why they destroy ALL the character progression and Hardin starts drinking again, spends 2 years destroying his life and everyone around him, Tessa refusing to see him or talk to him for 2 years!!! Only to go on holiday to Portugal and come back and he sees Tessa and they instantly get back together 25 months after they broke up? It’s absolutely PATHETIC and then in the last minute of the film they dont show you them getting married or having children, suddenly there’s a scene 7 years later or whatever they have a kid and Tessa is pregnant wearing and terrible wig and Hardin kisses her belly! I mean good lord it’s so forced and terrible. If they were going to come back for a 5th film and not end it with them together in the 4th film then this needed to be the film we see Tessa and Hardin both become successful in their fields, produce good books they are proud of and see them get engaged and married. And considering she can’t have kids shes done awfully well having 2 kids! What a let down. Pretty sure they’ve only made this film to prepare us for the new film BEFORE which is different actors.

Die hard HIMYM fan but how I met your father? If Charlie is from Scarborough why does he have such a terrible British accent, it sounds so fake and so annoying and Ellen the gay sister why is she is fake “funny” and annoying, trying too hard to be funny. Sort Charlie’s accent out and get rid of annoying Ellen and it might be a good show. Jessie and Sophie are good characters but needs deeper story line maybe that’s to come tho?
