As a sequence for a videogame series like Bayonetta, I feel like Mr. Kamiya either lost sharp critical thinking, and good orientation, or played little role in the development of this game. I don't know how to put it. It lost its originality, creativity, and personality. It feels… eh, no. I feel like even if this game wasn't a sequence, and instead the first Bayonetta game, it would still be not of many Bayonetta fans' taste (including mine).
Before making my final point, I would like to say that I understand, and respect the addition of Viola here. She is supposed to be the embodiment of "be oneself regardless of other people's opinions", and you can clearly see that it worked. Many Bayonetta fans are either no longer following the series, or just starting to dislike it because of the character, but it's still bad, and for a reason. It doesn't fit the Bayonetta series, and it's actually bad.
You see, Viola's addition to the game was somehow a wise idea, but it deteriorated the videogame series' quality. If you can't come up with better ideas that are as sharp, creative, and well-oriented as the first Bayonetta game's was, then it's better to discontinue the series.
