Let me make this clear: this movie isn't 1 star. It isn't awful. It has a premise. It has motive. It has a good goal in its creation.
But the execution is kinda awful.
Firstly, you can't advertise a movie that would've been borderline hitting PG 13 in theaters as a "family-friendly" flick. A kid using twirking to defy their horrible theatrical representation of a mother is not something you should want your kids seeing.
Secondly, as I've said before, this whole "breaking away from your mother and being independent" is all good and fine if you aren't turning it into a slew of destructive and harmful behavior. No IRL children should be going out with their friends to the either side of the city because "their panda, their choice".
If this is what "breaking away" and "being independent" is, count me, a 16 year old kid, OUT.
