No question, it’s my own fault. After reading “The Sentinel” and finding it disappointing to the point of annoyance, I nevertheless purchased and have tried to read “Better Off Dead.” This latest Jack Reacher co-written work , if nothing else, is perfectly named; poor Jack would be better off dead than to have to live in this sad reincarnation. I actually bought this with “ …surely it can’t be as bad as the last one.” Well, how wrong I was! . This one may actually be harmful to your brain cells. The only thing that is more amazing than how poorly written “Better Off Dead” is the fact that supposedly some readers have posted strong reviews. Really??
