I enjoyed the actors and general theme.
A few comments - cruise ships are staffed by board certified and experienced Emergency Physicians. These highly trained physicians have completed 4 years of college and then 4 years of medical school, and 3-4 years of specialty residency training after medical school. They then take certifying boards and will have had some years of experience after all of this training. They follow standards set by their specialty designed for cruise ship medicine.
Nurse practitioners are nurses with a bachelors degree and then 2 years of extra training, in general.
While NPs are a valuable member of a medical team the training and knowledge, skills, etc. are not comparable to a physician.
Doctor Odyssey is touted as an Internist and has done pediatric surgery. Not possible. Two entirely different types of specialty training.
An entire medical team would never leave a ship unattended to party. Furthermore, anyone on duty or call would not drink. Off duty drinking is extremely limited by regulation.
The emergencies on the ship are severe and life or limb threatening emergencies. Not easily solved with a simple surgical procedure. Requiring critical care, urologic surgery, thoracic surgery, pulmonary critical care to name a few.
I would suggest hiring a board certified Emergency Medicine doctor experienced in cruise ship medicine as a advisor.
The show has the potential to be a lot of fun.
