Kirianna Campbell

One of the best historical films out there. It is extremely historically accurate, as much of the actors are unpaid reenactors, who agreed to act in the film as long as it was historically accurate. The reenactors even supplied the film with the cannons you see. If the film took to many creative liberties with the story, the reenactors would not want to participate in a film that was not historically accurate. So as a result, the people making the film were forced to make it as accurate as possible, which leads to a great historical film. It is not just historically accurate, it is very intense and the action scenes are just amazing. It is a long movie, but it is totally worth watching towards the end.

Does NOT live up to its predecessor Gettysburg. This film is all over the place. It should have been a miniseries, as it is 4 long hours and still skips very important parts of the story. It never even mentions Jackson's Valley Campaign. That is not even mentioning the movie's horrendous depiction of slavery. They depict the northern soldiers as invaders who are unnecessarily cruel to the 'poor oppressed rich slave owners' while it never shows and cruelty towards the slaves. It tries to make the oppressors of millions look like the victims. The south was not the victim, I don't care what anybody says. Overall, this is the kind of movie that would be acceptable in the Jim Crow era, not 2004.
