absolutely mind blown that this has a 90% on rotten tomatoes. me and my friends have hate-watched all of season 1 and 2 so far. The concept is interesting but the execution has many problems. Generally the writing is absolutely atrocious, the dialogue is very unnatural and the acting is mid. With the wacky situations they put these characters in it makes all of these things seem even worse than they already are. Here’s where we get political.. I am slightly left leaning but this show is comically woke. I think that’s the main draw for mine and my friends hate watching enjoyment. Now I find none of this offensive of course it just makes the show extremely funny to watch. My favorite scene of all time is a perfect example of this. It is somewhere in early season one where we find out that in the society of regular (non-digital) people, they all wear bodycams and have to lean in and give verbal consent before engaging in sexual activity. When we first saw this it made my brain explode. For the longest time I couldn’t tell if this show was making fun of wokeness or writing along with it. So honestly if that’s your cup of tea i’d recommend. if I had 1 word to describe this show it’d be “corny” 10/10 (for hate watching).
