I've loved every main line final fantasy game that has ever come out, except this one (and maybe 13), this was a true disappointment. The story might've been good but if I want a good story then I'll read a book or watch a film. Even still, the story didn't really seem original or hook me in. The graphics also didn't seem any better than 15, maybe even worse. The gameplay on this was just terrible and felt like a lazy afterthought to the developers, it was just mashing the attack button and occasionally dodging, there was no need to strategise or plan or buy good equipment, you just attack with overly flashy moves and press that attack button like your life depends on it. The combat was repetitive and boring, it was an instant gratification hack and slash, not a final fantasy RPG at all. This game was extremely linear and was dumbed down so much it bore no relation at all to the other FF titles. Definitely not worth £70 pounds, kinda regret buying it now.
