I have been in love with the story of Robin Hood since I was a child and read or watch every version of the tale that I can get my hands on. I've sampled many different variations and have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this retelling. Was it completely accurate? No, but it retained the heart of the tale and was enjoyable because of those differences. Much of the costuming was too brightly colored and the fabrics too modern for the time period, but that also made it feel fresh and new. After having watched this film and read other reviews, all I have to say is this: leave your expectations and social politics at the door and appreciate the movie for what it is, not what you think it should be.
