I have never given a one star rating to anything. I try to find positivity in everything. But this is different.
I don't know who told this woman that she could write about fatherhood or family bonds. Don't get me wrong; I have got nothing against her. And this review is solely for the book, and it's a TERRIBLE children's book. Period.
I didn't buy it buy had the chance to go through it (it doesn't take long to read it). There is no story but a grotesque display of narcissism. I finally understand why she has the nickname "me-gain". It's not even about fatherhood; it's all about them--the Duke and the Duchess. Throughout the book, she's talking to Harry. Illustrations of different cultures are just thrown in randomly, which makes no sense. Did the publishers even look at it before green-lighting it?
While the illustrations are great, this is nothing short of an insult to all the hardworking writers/poets in the world. And it actually made me feel hopeless to think that we live in a world where your title as a princess (not talent) can buy you publishing and Netflix deals.
I am completely gobsmacked by the 5 or even 3 star reviews for this book. I would award it 0 stars if I could. The 5 stars are probably paid reviews, or are from Meghan's fans or friends who are being polite. I seriously doubt that anybody who has ever read a good children's book could think this deserves 5 stars. A fifth grader can write better poetry. I know Pakistani kids who speak English as second language write better than this.
I recommend, don't waste money on this and support actual authors and poets.
