I appreciated the concept, and I thought it was written with style. I was disturbed and creeped out by some of the stories which I love. Some were sad. I love the horror concept. However, I felt that it didn't capture the spirit of the Mexican lotería game. I felt like the cards were metaphors for the chapters. For example, the Sirena chapter was sad. I thought it was going to be about an evil mermaid or something better and the Crown chapter could have been elaborated. I didn't understand just the list of names for that part. I was confused. The Cazo chapter was good, but it should have took place in Mexico or the United States where lotería is heavily popular and loved. With the other chapters, I could see where the pictures of the cards kind of fall into place and some just didn't. I felt that the book could have been better. Overall, it was an interesting read.
