I personally loved the movie.
I thought it was a cute little story that can be relatable.
I think the movie really captured the stubbornness, pressure/stress, ad the hardened resolve of immigrant descendants. With more and more racial couples emerging, I think it is a great era / generation for this movie.
I don't think the movie deserves that much hate.
The animations are great and so clean. It was refreshing to watch. The main characters were complete opposites, it's a common theme but it doesn't make it bad just because. I think we should focus on how the story is told rather than what common themes are being used / "overdone".
I also really like the music, one of my favorite songs -- "Steal the show".
