It was hard to get into the story and fully enjoy it due to the reoccurring and insistent mentions of Covid, being vaccinated and trump. I found it hard to connect and understand Holly’s character based around the topic of the mother. It was beyond unsympathetic and painted her as if she were a villain/less than because she was not vaccinated. This was probably the first time I had multiple eye rolls reading his work… jt was disappointing and hope this will not be a running theme in any future books.
