My children truly enjoyed the original Little Mermaid and my grandchildren did. I watched the original version in my life over 300 times. I went to see Little Mermaid 2023 not because I wanted to top the version I was so used to, but because I wanted to see how it fit the times of today. Disney got it right and gave hope to many children of all colors; they did an awesome job!! Why? Diversity!!! I cried almost the entire time watching the remake of The Little Mermaid. The tears were for the children who now see if they have a dream it can be fulfilled if they set their minds to it. Halle Bailey did an awesome job, and her voice made it believable. All of the characters put their own style in it and it was felt. It was not a love story, but more of a challenge to make changes in a world that is so divided.
