The island living pack is a bit strange, you can buy a property and live the island life, decorate it with some new items and enjoy the sunshine.
The biggest issue is you cannot vacation on the lot though until you make a small change. You will need to enter this world go into build mode, convert an empty house/lot into a rental and voila, you can have 7 day vacation spot. Decorate or use an existing house already on the island to be your vacation cabin. be aware though that your sims can get trapped if you dont plan your house correctly. In vacation mode the buy/build isnt available.
The pack is a bit strange, you have to travel to each area if you want to visit it. The sandy beach itself is unrestricted. I am not sure why they did this. If you want to visit the bar, you have to travel there and back again. Makes the whole thing disjointed. If you want a day trip here and there, then I guess its okay. For longer vacations the area just doesnt connect properly. It doesnt really work as a vacation island due to the way sims 4 handles lots. Unlike sims 3 this vacation spot is a bit of a letdown.
Dont bother unless you can get Island Living in the sale, its a shame they didnt think this pack through properly. The decorative items are fine, they do add some nice stuff to the already bloated build mode, but it doesnt change the tiny feel of the pack.
