Great movie. The plot is so gripping and the narrative is so flawless. I recall that when this movie was released in 1982, the college going girls in our apartment complex went together to watch this movie in the theatre. Shashi Kapoor is as charming as ever and his character has been well etched. Shashi Kapoor and Reena Roy make a good pair. It is a pity that they never acted again. Once feels so sorry to see the handsome Rajkiran who was popular in Bollywood at one point of time. He was introduced by B R Ishara in Kagaz Ki Nao in 1975 along with Sarika. He was a good looking Sindhi boy and had a marvelous screen presence. It is a pity that personal problems took a tool on his mental health. Rita Bhaduri lends good support. Seema Deo, Madhumalini and Guddi Maruti play their parts convincingly. Music is passable with two chartbusters. Naseer as the meancing blackmailer and his nemesis (spoiler alert!) add value to the plot. This is an out and out family entertainer. Unfortunately, none of the actors of the present generation can fit in the shoes of these actors. Iftekhar, Murad, Yunus Parvez, Raj Rani and Roohi have a few scenes but they have played their parts well. The movie was a remake of the Tamil film - Mayangugiral Oru Maadhu that starred Sujatha, Muthuraman, Thengai Srinivasan, Jayalakshmi and Vijaykumar). Definitely worth a watch! I thoroughly enjoyed the movie as it evoked nostalgia!
