Young Black Genius

This is the worst DreamWorks movie and one of the worst animated films I have ever had the displeasure of sitting through. The animation is ugly as sin and the fact that this was released in the same year as Shrek 2 and The Incredibles is laughable. Oscar is easily the most unlikable DreamWorks protagonist. He betrays his best friend's trust and capitalizes off of the killing of another shark with no repercussions. The story is as bare bones as can be. It's just another story where a character lies to the other characters and then you see what happens after. That's it. It's not charming, it's not emotional, it's not funny. Good GOD is it not funny. I chuckled ONCE. There are no likable characters. I kinda sorta thought that Don Lino was not hatable but that's it. In conclusion, Shark Tale is a painful experience of a film and the fact that this was nominated for Best Animated Picture in a year where its fellow nominees were The Incredibles and Shrek 2, and it got chosen over The Spongebob Squarepants Movie is just embarrassing

As a fan of Friendship is Magic, I think it's safe to say I was expecting more than a generic kids flick. Fluttershy and Applejack, 2 of the main characters of Friendship is Magic, are sidelined and only contribute a couple of hit or miss gags. It says alot when the celebrities they got like Emily Blunt( Tempest Shadow) and Taye Diggs ( Capper) are promoted in posters way more than the show's veterans like Tara Strong( Twilight Sparkle) and Tabitha St. Germain ( Rarity). The songs aren't bad, but they are sort of generic, especially Rainbow by Songbird Serenade( Sia). The actors do a good job, but the work they were given is pretty weak. The animation diverts from the show, and it's hard to say if it's better or worse than how it normally looks. The film could have been better if the Mane 6( Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Rarity and Fluttershy) and Spike the Dragon( Cathy Weseluck) were split up and go to all 3 main locations. Twilight Sparkle and Pinkie Pie( Andrea Libman) would go straight to Seaquestria, Rainbow Dash,Applejack( Both played by Ashleigh Ball) and Spike would meet up with the Pirates and Fluttershy( Andrea Libman) and Rarity would go to Klugetown. As it stands, it's a disappointingly average kids movie.

There are four rules that a Muppet movie must follow. 1, it has to be funny. 2, Statler and Waldorf have to be rude. 3, Kermit has to be likeable, and 4, Gonzo shall always be classified as a whatever. This film breaks rule 2 by barely having them and completely shatters rule 4 to a million pieces. Also, bonus rule: THE MUPPETS HAVE TO SING. That rule also gets tossed out the window. Occasional good jokes, always phenomenal puppetry and no hateable characters can only get you so far.

Just imagine if this was the last piece of evidence we ever existed. Sad, isn't it? This is a movie your life would be 90% better if you never watched it. Slamming your head into a wall would be better. Because at least your head would make more of an impact on that wall than this film made on our race. This movie is dumb, the people who greenlit it should never greenlight a movie again, and we are all dumber for forking our time and/or money over to Sony.
