I will say upfront that I did not finish this book, but am leaving a review because I am a HUGE SK fan and have been since I was a kid (I'm 38). Holly has become one of my favorite recurring characters since she first appeared in Mr. Mercedes. I was so excited for a book all about her. I haven't finished because I can't get past all of the political references. I know SK is vocal about his views on this and that's fine, but I read fiction books to escape reality. That's something I've always been able to rely on with his books. This one I just couldn't get through, and I want to so badly! I haven't read a ton of other reviews, so if someone says it lightens up later in the book then I would gladly go back, but as of now I just can't get through it. We all know COVID sucked and we all know Trump does too but let's leave it out of our make believe stories?! Just really disappointing for something I was looking so forward to.
