The google reviews for this book are heavily skewed from disinformation by children who resented reading this book for school. I was first introduced to this boom from the same means, but I was inspired to listen to it via audible after covid hit. I remember it being absolutely fascinating. The primary complaint I've been seeing comes from a stylistic syntactical choice, which reflects Charlie Gordon's intelligence. I believe in the 5 stars I rated this book, and I hope that whoever reads this review give this book a try. I don't think the book is perfect, but --as far as internet ratings go-- it should be listed at roughly 4.8-4.9 for the average consumer. I don't review frequently, but this book having as low of ratings as google said it had made me want to say something.
