As someone who has been playing 2K since NBA 2K10, this is one of the worst 2Ks I have ever played. Put simply the game is absolutely terrible. If you want to even compete you have to spend $70 on the game and then most likely another $100 on a build if you want to max it up to an 85 overall and get animations as well, since grinding in Mycareer takes absolutely forever. You might be playing til 2026 before your player gets up to an 85 overall without buying VC. Clothes in the stores for your my-player are an absolute ripoff. You want a shirt or pants? 15k VC each and sometimes up to 30k. 2k has always been a money grab and it’s never been worse than it is this year. The graphics are also worse this year. The graphics in NBA 2k14 absolutely clear this years graphics and that game is 10 years old. It seems like 2k is just taking the graphics from the years before and slapping it on to this game. Yet the gameplay is even worse. As someone who shot over 60% from 3 in the Rec and in the park for the last 2 years, shooting seems literally impossible this year. The visual cues on jump shots are quite impossible to figure out. One game you can shoot 9/10 from three but the next you will shoot 1/10. It seems as if no one can shoot this year which makes for really bad gameplay. Dribbling is also atrocious. The dribbling is incredibly slow and even if you have a high ball handling rating it seems like you get ripped 3 times a game. On top of that the latency in this years game is worse than it has ever been before. I play on a monitor which is supposed to decrease latency by a good amount . Yet when I make a dribble move I sometimes have to wait 2 or 3 seconds before my player actually makes that move. Pass deflections are also a problem in the game. No matter how high ur interceptor, glove or steal rating are, it seems as if you can only get deflections instead of steals. I cannot tell you how many times my friends and I have been in a REC game and gotten dozens of deflections and yet only 5 or 6 steals as a team. And sometimes u can play a passing lane perfectly but your player tries to steal the ball going the wrong direction. Overall, this game is one of the 3 worst 2Ks ever put out. And if it isn’t fixed (which it probably won’t be because when they try to fix something they usually makes it worse) it will probably take the cake for worst 2k ever put out. Save yourself a headache and maybe even a controller and do not buy this game. It’s the biggest ripoff in gaming right now.
