This show is brilliant !
The plot line stands out and differs from typical comedies, the characters feel authentic and unique, and the balance between humour and serious issues is *chef kiss. Superstore accurately depicts the struggle of minimum wage workers as well as the way the heads of big companies can profit off capitalism to nourish their greed (and all that with humour). The show both directly and indirectly addresses other issues like gender inequality, racism, immigration, etc ! Very educational and again witted.
In terms of characters, it's worth to mention that Jonah and Amy have A LOT of chemistry. Although some would dislike that, their on and off relationship kept me on my toes. It was realistic and beautifully built up and most importantly it didn't feel rushed or forced (like in many TV shows). Simmosa is my all time favorite TV couple. The other characters are touching and complex enough to make you empathize with them. I loved them all !
I have to admit... when I usually watch shows on Netflix, I always have a hard time going through the first episode, and end up taking time to appreciate the show. With Superstore it was an immediate crush. This show is so underrated ! I highly recommend it, especially if you're a big fan of comedies.
