This movie has a lot of discrepancies and misrepresentations in our Chinese culture. The mother operates a business by selling tours to the ancestry temple of the family is not possible. I am a woman. I never had a chance to enter the ancestry temple which is reserved only for men. The ancestry temple is the highest respect for the ancestors and should be left at peace at all times, not for open tours. I lived in China for 20 years and 30 years in the U.S., never seen one that way. The ancestry temple is not a theme park. Also, we have over 3,500 years of culture with 1.4 billion in this world, I am sure we know how to deal with our daughters when they have periods. This movie is stereotyping and also misleading. It is an insult to the Chinese.
