If you are looking for an accurate portrayal of Leonardo da Vinci's life, look away! Sure, they capture the essence of his pure genius, both artisticly and mathematically, but the fiction of Caterina and his charge of murder against her is farcical. This series could have chosen so many interesting arcs that were founded in truth, but instead they chose to fictionalise the main plot. It feels deceptive, even if it was a little entertaining.

Amidst wonderful costumes and historical integrity of this series, I found the story mostly compelling and sporadically entertaining. The introduction by Michael Palin promises to transport us into an almost fantastic world which the plot only partially delivers. Whilst most of the acting was believable, Becky Sharp was a little too staid and uncaring, which made the character hard to like and believe. Still worth the indulgence though.....

This show is the most brilliant, thought-provoking and truthful statement of our world today. It's thinly veiled portrayal of real and divisive issues are not only thoroughly entertaining but directly challenge us to look at what our society has become and the inevitable foreboding if we continue on this trajectory
