I have pros and cons for this game, but overall I think it's really good! If I were to have to summarize it (as of 40 hours in), dyinglight 2 is the first game again, with different abilities, a new story, and mods.
Firstly, pros: Combat is much more suited for fighting humans. The parry mechanic actually makes fighting humans playable, whereas in the first game they literally just blocked everything thrown at them.
Kinda Cons: Movement is different, for better or for worse. It takes a LONG time to get all the movement options and can be pretty frustrating at times. A little after early game was the hardest part to get through, simply because you didn't have enough abilities. But once you HAVE said abilities, the game becomes much easier.
The movement feels more floaty, but I think there's a cannon reason for this, so... never mind?
Cons: In early game, you simply can't play at night without hating life because of the immunity feature. Early forced dark areas are a pain to get through and you find yourself tethered to the nearest UV light at all times. Sure, once you get enough upgrades, it's not as much of a problem, but the progression to get to that point is really slow. Overall, a chore.
Story: Haven't finished it, is good so far :)
Bugs: Because of its early release, I'm not too mad about any bugs, and they're not common anyway. It still has that traditional dying light jank, especially in parkour.
Final thoughts, if you like the first one, get the second one! It's good.
