This movie was very odd because it was well acted, the actors conjured some moments of good chemistry and it had an interesting enough plot line but it just didn’t come together. The director’s choices of music, camera angles and lighting clashed with the tone of the writing in a very awkward way. It’s kind of like he threw in grunge elements and surrealistic special effects without actually matching them to the rest of the movie. This made for a cumbersome movie. Sandra Bullock is really the only reason this movie wasn’t unpleasant. She really wasn’t giving the material to do her best work but her charm carried the movie. I also think that the story twist was interesting and really could’ve been put to better affect.
If you’re the kind of person that doesn’t analyze movies and just goes with the flow then you might really enjoy this movie, especially if you don’t mind and not turning out the way you expect.
