It does touch on the damage of isolation to the mental state. But this movie….. unhappy family, man leaves woman and child to fend for themselves, woman loses mind, boy is left alone in the wilderness. The end…. What about they make it out alive, find a hospitable place to live and live happily ever after. Endings are always so dark and hopeless now.
